Brochure PE-707 The illustrated junction of the small and large intestines at the cecum shows the ileocecal valve. The brochure describes how the valve my fail to open appropriately to allow passage of waste material into the colon.

Symptoms that may be caused by a closed ileocecal valve are listed as well as the short-term diet necessary during treatment of the valve.
